** IMPORTANT NOTES *** ** ALL PRICING REFERENCED FOR EACH COURSE IS LISTED ON A PER WEEK (Mon - Fri) 3 HOUR BASIS (EXAMPLE $89/WK) 1. Minimum system requirements FOR CODING, 3D ANIMATION, VIRTUAL REALITY AND VIDEO GAME DEVELOPMENT are required.CHROME BOOKS AND TABLETS may not be suitable for installations and running requirements for these programs. PC'S, laptops, (NOT CHROMEBOOKS) and MAC'S are ok. 2. COURSES WITH A PART 1 AND A PART 2: In order to take PART 2 of any course, part 1 MUST have been taken as a pre-requisite. 3: MATH SESSIONS: - Math session run for 3 weeks in total in order to receive a full school year's math curriculum. - It is recommended but not mandatory for students to take all 3. - Students will not be admitted into the second, nor the third week of math classes if they have not completed the first week, however students may take only the first week if desired. - Math payments are required each week of registration as the cost is $39 per week, not $39 for all 3 weeks. MATH IS $39/week 4. FRENCH IMMERSION COURSES: French Immersion courses are skills building class 100% in French to build vocabulary, speaking and writing skills, one week is not a pre-requisite of the other, as students will be receiving assignments and projects to complete in French each week. Each week is different, students may sign up for some or all of these sessions to maintain French comprehension abilities over the summer.
SUMMER WORKSHOP SELECTIONS CODING
This course is an introduction to computer programming for beginners. The course is tailored to students without any computer programming background - the only requirements are a laptop/computer and a can-do attitude! You will be writing your first program, learning programming with numbers and strings, coding decisions and loops as well as writing your own functions! This is a hands-on course, where students will follow along the instructor's examples step by step during class time. By the end of this course, students will have a fundamental grasp of computer programming with Python.
This course will introduce students to the basics of html coding and the skills required to code in any language! With lessons that focus on literacy, problem-solving, and planning, students will be developing the required skills to code! Enrollment in the program will allow students to find their inner coder and learn more about what it means to code! At the end of this week, your child will have been exposed to binary code, CSS coding, problem-solving, and planning through plenty of interactive activities. Prerequisite Knowledge: None
SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING
This coursewill introduce students to the basics of machine learning in AI, showing them how common AI systems work. By the end, students will be able to implement their own 'Perceptron' which will be able to distinguish simple images.
This course will show students fundamentals of computer engineering works by introducing them to digital logic, binary operations and gate-level circuits. Students will learn how a calculator works and see how they are made all the way down to transistors.This course is an introduction to computer programming for beginners. Students will participate in creative and innovative activities that will help introduce them to the fundamental basics of developing effective mechanical designs, electrical circuits, and construction! Robotics Kit will be shipped for a live build and is included in the cost of this course.

Science is a highly successful method of thinking used by subjective creatures to make sense of an objective world that we cannot clearly see. From this method, humanity has uncovered countless discoveries and built advanced technologies. But can this method be useful in our everyday lives? How do we think like scientists? This course is a discussion-based seminar between the teacher and students. Class Description: Socratic Seminar - this class is about thinking! Be ready to listen, share your thoughts, and challenge the teacher, as well as each other. What we'll discuss: -What is Science? -How does Science relate to Society and vice versa? -Scientific Lingo -Semantics (e.g. belief, proof) -Context: why belief in dragons is reasonable or not -Certainty, Subjectivity, & Objectivity -Scientific Method -Logic & Fallacies -Science-Public Controversies (may touch on climate change, gluten, GMOs, evolution, vaccines, junk food, designer babies, etc - determined by class interest)
Understanding GMOs (in Crop Biology)– Science, Philosophy, & Dialogue Genetic engineering is the process of using recombinant DNA (rDNA) technology to alter the genetic makeup of an organism. Traditionally, humans have manipulated genomes indirectly by controlling breeding and selecting offspring with desired traits. Genetically Modified crops have been on the global market for almost 30 years. Since 1994, rapid advances in agricultural biotechnology have brought progress and fear, leading to notable conflicts between scientists, industry, and the public. What is a GMO? Ever wonder how they are made? Why are GMOs so controversial? In order to understand and simplify this highly complex topic, we will investigate its social, philosophical, and scientific foundations through discussions, lectures, and activities; focusing on plants and the foods we eat. Each class builds on the last, fostering the necessary understanding to critically analyze the current and future state of GMOs within our systems of food, health, environment, and politics, beginning with the very foundations of science itself. ANIMATION, VIDEO GAME DEVELOPMENT AND VIRTUAL REALITY
Ever wonder how Virtual Reality comes to life? Explore the world of VR by learning the technology behind it and build your own VR experience using python and coding based software. *VR Headset will be shipped and is included in the cost of this course.
Continued from session 1. Create Dynamic projects using the previous concepts taught. Environment manipulation and we will start off with a full fledge abstract animation which is simple to learn and is very eye catching. How to use an image as a background and how to use HDR photos. In this session we will also be telling how we will be using some websites as a mode to download various projects of 3D models. Students will build 3D models and other animations using Blender.
This course will show students how to make 3D games with Unity, introducing them to 3D systems and coding scripts for games. By the end, students will have their own simple 3D game and gain a basic understanding of how programming in advanced class systems works.There is a small requirement here: to use 3D modeling in Unity, participants need a computer that is able to download and run it. Most computers will work, but old computers, chromebooks or other weaker computers might have trouble.

This course delves into more intermediate lessons to allow students to advance their knowledge of grade-school level mathematics. Students will engage in activities and lessons on measurement, angles, decimals, and more. This session uses a combination of hands-on activities, worksheets, and games to keep your child excited about learning mathematics!

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND INNOVATION
Discord is a platform where you can call up your friends and you can talk and chill on your own discord servers. You can do various things such as listen to songs, send memes and even stream whatever you’re doing! Basic Introduction to discord and how to create and manage your own server. We will teach you how to assign someone a role and each role will have different privileges on the server. In this session we will give you a basic intro of bots on the server. You can even add your own customized emojis and don’t you worry we’ve got your back on this end too! Going in depth about the bots you need on a server and their basic functions. We will teach you how to advertise your server and to manage the crowd that joins in. In this session we will teach you how to design your very own bots and how you can implement them on a server. Learn how to monetize your creations on the platform.
THE ARTS
Discover the magic in creativity and innovation! In this course, students will be encouraged to develop their artistic capabilities and craftsmanship, to design their own, aesthetically astounding creations! They will discover various different fields in art including sculpting, painting and even construction! There will be activities that will stimulate their budding minds to investigate how art is a fundamental aspect of their daily lives, and even in the world of math or science! The campers will take the time to explore their own imagination, while also implementing these unique ideas in reality, to understand how the world of colors, construction, and paper can be integrated into a meaningful innovation!
During our anime-themed course, students will learn the basic skills and techniques involved in anime-style cartooning while growing an appreciation for the unique aspects that make up this Japanese animation style. Monday’s lesson will introduce students to the world and background of anime, as well as engage them in activities to learn basic creative elements of this art form. Tuesday will build on Monday’s lesson, and delve further into cartooning techniques such as the drawing of eyes, facial expression, body positioning, shading, and exaggeration with a unique anime touch. Wednesday will see students practicing these techniques in various activities, and brainstorming ideas for their final project. Thursday and Friday will both focus on the final project for the session week, in which students will create a project encompassing the skills they’ve learned through the week to share with their instructor, classmates, and family.
During this course, students will learn the basics of cartooning through various engaging lessons! Monday’s lessons will cover an introduction to the world of cartooning, providing students with interesting examples and the opportunity to pick a project for the week. Tuesday’s lessons will expose students to creative elements such as shading, implementing basic and complex line art, cross-hatching techniques, and more! Wednesday’s lesson will allow students to practice all the elements of cartoon design in one project followed by Thursday’s lesson where students will begin work on their big cartoon project. On Friday, students will finish up their lesson and share it with their instructor, classmates, and parents. At the end of this exciting and creative session, students will have been exposed to various techniques involved in the world of cartoon art! They will be able to use their new-found knowledge and interest in cartooning to create their own cartoons to share with their friends and family!

With these interactive class lessons, students will discover the magic of Cantonese! They will partake in several engaging activities that will help them develop a strong foundation to successfully speak in Mandarin! In fact, they will learn and improve their grammar skills, while also expanding their vocabulary. The students will be on their way to speaking coherently and articulating their thoughts and ideas!
