Level 2: Grade 7


This program is open to all students graduating from level 1. Students will be introduced to more specialized STEM subjects. They will have the opportunity to interact with other bright and like-minded individuals as well as industry experts.

Once the students have an understanding of the basics required to build a true leader in STEM, they move on to this level. This level is focused on building upon the concepts and foundation from level 1. Each spring, the students will have the opportunity to attend a University Readiness program. Students will immerse themselves in a complete university experience with STEM-based classes taught by various university educators, all while exploring the beautiful campus, residing in residence, and making new networking connections and long-lasting friendships with other like-minded students.

Level 2: Grade 8


This is the senior cohort of level 2. Students will focus on the development of various useful skills that will be acquired through exposure to STEM-related concepts and opportunities as they prepare to head to high school.

Level 2 Program Features

Program Overview

The Leadership Development program is available to children ages 10-18. The program will provide children and youth with immersive STEM-based experiential learning. Students will have the opportunity to facilitate and engage in community projects, ultimately pioneering change within the community and the development of future leaders for change.

Future leaders will be exposed to unique global STEM opportunities and programs directed towards the pursuit of post-secondary education and enhanced career aspirations.

Session Details

Level 2
We are back to in-person sessions.

Program sessions for Level 2 will run on the 2nd Saturday of each month. In the event of a holiday, an alternate program time will be given.

The program will run from Saturday, October 21, 2023 and will run through to June 2024.

Start times will be 10:00 am OR 11:00 am depending on the student’s location and will run for 2 hours.

A full program schedule will be provided for your area upon successful registration and acceptance.

During their time in the program, all students will have the opportunity to select multiple and unlimited STEM Immersion sessions of their choice that will run weekly throughout the week during after-school hours and throughout the weekend during times they do not have general cohort sessions. STEM Immersion sessions will run for 1 hour in length.

During weekend cohort sessions, students will engage with industry professionals, have mentorship sessions, leadership skills building sessions, and interact with their peers to foster critical thinking and problem solving skills. Cohort sessions running on the weekend will run for 2 hours. Fall registration for this program closes on January 26, 2024.

Mentorship Sessions for Students

All students will have the opportunity to be mentored throughout the course of the program. The right mentor can provide advice and connections, helping the mentee onto a path to success.

Students in the upper cohort of their level tier will have the opportunity to further develop their leadership and interpersonal relationship skills by mentoring junior students.

Opportunities include working with key industry professionals who hold similar interests and passion for STEM careers and STEM learning overall.

Program Fees

There will be a standard application fee when applying for the online
2023/2024 session. The one-time application fee of $59 will cover the full nine (9) months of programming and program incidentals.

An administrative / user fee of $29.99/month will also be required.

All STEM programming on weekends and throughout the weekdays are unlimited and provided at no extra cost. Students may choose between all STEM clubs, courses and special programming (excluding global trips) FREE OF CHARGE. All programs are covered in the $29.99 monthly program fee. Downloadable personal A3 Microsoft license and Data Science Software License included in costs.

Register For Other Supplementary STEM Immersion Programs

Explore STEM learning outside of any classroom. STEM programming is available outside of the STEM National Leadership Program. Whether enrolled in a public school, catholic school, private school, French school or home-school, SMAC offers easy and affordable STEM Immersion learning options for all ages. From pre-school (age 3) to high school (grade 12), students can enroll in STEM learning classes online on weekdays or weekends. From single classes, workshops, special lectures or competitions to half-days or full time, there are many options available to enhance opportunities for STEM Immersion learning.

Scholarship opportunities are always available to supplement session fees that are not offered free of charge.
